SSL and Code Signing Intermediate and Root CA Certificates for Managed PKI for SSL Accounts

Description

SSL Certificates from Managed PKI Accounts

Symantec uses Intermediate CAs to enhance the security of SSL certificates. When installing a Symantec SSL certificate, it is essential to install the correct Intermediate CA at the same time as the SSL certificate. This ensures that the SSL certificate is fully trusted by all browsers and client computers which prevents errors from appearing when users visit a secure website.

The Root certificate, in most cases, is not required for the installation with the SSL certificate. It is provided here for the rare instances where the server does require the Root certificate to be installed together with the SSL and Intermediate certificates, or for server/client to server communication where the trusted Root certificates have not been pre-installed on the server/client side.

The following tables list Symantec products with links to the relevant Intermediate and Root CA certificates. Once your SSL certificate is installed, please use the SSL Certificate Installation Checker to ensure a problem-free SSL certificate experience for you and your users.
