How do I install an SSL Certificate into a Sun One WebServer?

Solution

Once you created a CSR on your Sun One WebServer, the next step is to install the SSL certificate you receive back from QuoVadis onto it.  The following steps describe this process:

  1. Once you have received your certificate from QuoVadis, make sure the Admin Server is started.  Once it is started, connect o the admin server.

  2. Click on the Mange Servers and make sure to choose https-yourdomain.

Note:  The yourdomain that is bold may be different depending on what it was named when you created the CSR.

  3. Click on the Security Tab, and then click on Install Certificate from the options on the left.

  4. Check the Trusted Certificate Authority option and enter in the password.  On the Trust/Link certificate download page, copy the all contents of the PEM Root CA field and paste them into the Message text box.  Accept the certificate.

  5. Click on the Security Tab again and then click on Install Certificate from the options on the left.

  6. Check the Server Certificate Chain option and enter in the password.  On the Trust/Link certificate download page, copy the all contents of the PEM Intermediate CA field and paste them into the Message text box.  Accept the certificate.

  7. Click on the Security Tab, and then click on Install Certificate from the options on the left.

  8. Check the This Server option.

  9. Type in the password if prompted.

  10. Check the Message text (with headers).

  11. Paste the certificate into the box and click on OK.

  12. Select the Preferences tab and then Encryption On/Off.

  13. Set the encryption to 'On' and set the Port to 443.  Click on OK and then Save and Apply.

  14. Make sure the Web Server is stopped and then restart it.
