How to enroll for a certificate with Subject Alternative Names (SANs)?


Secure multiple subdomains with a single SSL certificate by adding Subject Alternative Names (SAN) during enrollment. SAN is an optional feature available for the following products:

  • Symantec Secure Site Pro with EV
  • Symantec Secure Site with EV
  • Symantec Secure Site
  • Symantec Secure Site Pro
  • Symantec Secure Site Wildcard
  1. Sign-in to your Symantec Trust Center account
    Note: If you don't have a Symantec Trust Center account, you may purchase an SSL certificate by visiting Symantec's website
  2. Once signed-in, click Buy a certificate.
  3. Select SSL and click Buy for the certificate product you would like to purchase.
  4. Select the radio button for the number of years the certificate will be requested for and how many servers you want to secure.
  5. Click the drop down menu option for How may additional domains do you want to secure using subject alternative names (SANs)? to add SANs.
  6. You can add up to a maximum of 24 SANs to a single SSL certificate.
  7. Click Continue.

  8. On the Certificate Information page enter the SAN names that will be added to the certificate in the section under Additional websites URLs.
    You may enter any additional domains you want to secure separated by commas or one domain per line within the SAN field.

  9. Click Continue to complete the process of your certificate enrollment.
