Unable to renew end-entity certificate

Cause

This error occurs when one of the following conditions are true:

  • No access to the private key of the original end-entity certificate
  • The original end-entity certificate no longer exists on the end-users machine

Solution

To resolve this issue, the Symantec Managed PKI Service (MPKI) administrator will need to revoke the current certificate.  Once the certificate is revoked, the end-user will enroll for a new end-entity certificate.
