How to install an SSL Certificate on a Symantec PGP Universal Server 3.x

Solution

To install an SSL Certificate on a Symantec PGP Universal Server 3.x, follow the steps below:

Install CA and SSL Certificate:

1.  Obtain the corresponding Intermediate CA Bundle here

2.  Copy and paste the x.509 SSL Certificate into a Text Editor (Vi or Notepad). 

3.  Copy and paste the Intermediate CA Bundle to the bottom the of the x.509 SSL Certificate.  The format of the certificates should look like this:

End-Entity Certificate
-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
      encrypted text here
-----END CERTIFICATE-----
Secondary Intermediate CA Certificate
-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
      encrypted text here
-----END CERTIFICATE-----
Primary  Intermediate CA Certificate
-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
      encrypted text here
-----END CERTIFICATE-----

4.  Log in to the PGP Universal Server Configuration Console.

5.  Go to System > Network > Certificates

6.  Click on the Import (+)  option next to the host name.  The status should read Pending

    

7.  Paste in Certificate Block generated from Step 3.  Click Save.

  

8.  To assign the certificate, click on the drop-down arrow in the Assigned Certificate section of the Network Settings and select the certificate. Click the Save.
