How to edit bindings for IIS 7.0 and 7.5 on Windows Server 2008 / 2008R2


To edit bindings for IIS 7.0, 7.5 on Windows Server 2008 and 2008R2 perform the following steps:

  1. In the IIS Manager right click on the appropriate Web site. Select Edit Bindings.

  2. In the Site Bindings window, click Add, to add a new https binding or click Edit to modify an existing https binding

  3. Enter the appropriate settings for the SSL certificate.
  • Type: Select https
  • IP address: Enter the IP address for the site or select All Unassigned.
  • Port: This is the port that will be used for SSL (443 is the default)
  • SSL Certificate: Use the drop down arrow to select the correct SSL certificate. To confirm click the View button to see the certificate details.
  • Click Ok

Note: In some cases a restart of the web site may be necessary prior to any testing.
