How to create a certificate snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC)?

Add Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap in

Solution

To create a Certificate Snap-in in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) to manage your certificates, perform the follow steps:
 
Microsoft IIS Version 5.0 and 6.0
  1. From the Web server, click Start > Run
  2. In the text box, type mmc
     
     
  3. Click OK 
  4. From the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) menu bar, select Console (in IIS 5.0) or  File (in IIS 6.0) > Add/Remove Snap-in 
     
     
  5. Click Add
     
  6. From the list of snap-ins, select Certificates 
     
     
  7. Click Add
     
  8. Select Computer account 
     
     
  9. Click Next
     
  10. Select Local computer (the computer this console is running on) 

     
  11. Click Finish
     
  12. In the snap-in list window, click Close 
     
  13. In the Add/Remove Snap-in window, click OK 
     
     
  14. Save these console settings for future use
      

     

Microsoft IIS Version 7.0 

  1. From the Web server, click Start 
  2. In the Search programs and files field, type mmc
  3. From the Programs list, click mmc.exe
  4. At the permission prompt, click Yes
  5. From the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), click  File > Add/Remove Snap-in
  6. From the list of snap-ins, select Certificates
  7. Click Add
  8. Select Computer account
  9. Click Next
  10. Select Local computer (the computer this console is running on)
  11. Click Finish
  12. In the Add/Remove Snap-in window, click OK
  13. Save these console settings for future use


Microsoft IIS Version 8.0

  1. Access the Search menu. In the search box, type mmc
  2. From the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), click  File > Add/Remove Snap-in
  3. From the list of snap-ins, select Certificates
  4. Click Add
  5. Select Computer Account
  6. Click Next
  7. Select Local Computer (the computer this console is running on)
  8. Click Finish
  9. In the Add/Remove Snap-in window, click OK
  10. Save these console settings for future use
