GeoTrust Intermediate CA (ICA) Certificates

Solution

 

Refer to either of the two methods to download the Intermediate CA certificate associated to an SSL certificate:

METHOD 1:  Searching by Issuer Name

METHOD 2:  Finding the Direct Download URL

 

 
Step 1:  Identify the Issued By Name

Use the following steps to identify the Issued By Name that corresponds to the SSL certificate:

  1. Using a Microsoft Windows operating system, open or double click the issued SSL certificate from the form of a .cer extension
     
  2. From the General tab, locate the Issued by field
     
  3. Proceed to Step 2 referring the Issued by name

 

Step 2:  Download the Intermediate CA Certificate

Using the Issued by name found in Step 1 above, locate the same Issued by name in the chart below and click either the View or Download button.

NOTE:  Firefox web browser users should only use the View Button to download the certificate.

Use the following steps to locate the direct download link for the Intermediate CA certificate that corresponds to the SSL:

  1. Using a Microsoft Windows operating system, open or double click the issued SSL certificate from the form of a .cer extension
     
  2. From the Details tab, locate and select the Authority Information Access field
     
  3. A URL address referencing a .crt file will be present.  Enter the URL in a web browser for a direct download of the Intermediate CA certificate

    NOTE:  Do not use a Firefox web browser to enter the URL as Firefox will automatically install the certificate instead of providing the certificate file.
