Sign Macros and VBA Projects on Microsoft Office 2007 with Thawte Code Signing for Microsoft Office and VBA Certificates




Use the following steps to sign macros and VBA projects in Microsoft Office 2007 programs:

  1. Open the file that contains the macro project to sign
  2. For Excel, PowerPoint, or Word:
    On the Developer tab, in the Code group, click Visual Basic

    NOTE:  If the Developer tab is not available, click the Microsoft Office button, then click Excel Options, PowerPoint Options, or Word Options.  Then click Popular, and then select the Show Developer tab in the Ribbon check box.

    For Outlook, Publisher, or Visio:
    On the Tools menu, point to Macro, then click Visual Basic Editor
  3. In the Visual Basic Project Explorer, select the project to sign
  4. On the Tools menu, click Digital Signature
  5. Click Choose > select the Thawte certificate > then click OK
