Wildcard Record

Solution ID : SO114
Last Modified : 10/21/2023

Wildcard Records give you the ability to map all (or a section) of the records in your domain to one IP. Wildcard records can be A, AAAA, CNAME, SRV, or HTTP Redirection Records. Any record not previously defined in your domain name with its own hostname will resolve to the IP of the wild card. Additionally, you may want to use wildcard records if you are seeing a lot of NXDomains so you can announce a record to the cache and reduce your number of queries.
