Scenario

When uploading your BIMI logo to CertCentral for a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) order, you may encounter the following error message:

Element 'metadata' is a simple type, so it must have no element information item [children] at line x:x

This error can occur when your SVG file includes a metadata tag.

Solution

1. Open your SVG file in a plain text editor, such as Notepad.
2. Locate the line indicated in the error message and check whether it is part of a metadata tag.
   
   If it is part of a metadata tag, then it should be similar to the following:
   
   
3. Highlight and delete all three lines and then save the file.

Once the file has been saved, you should be able to upload it to your VMC order in CertCentral.
