End of life for discovery and managed automation in CertCentral on October 1, 2026

On October 1, 2026, DigiCert will discontinue discovery and automation services in CertCentral. Enhanced versions of these services are available in DigiCert® Trust Lifecycle Manager, a modern, CA-agnostic solution built to eliminate certificate outages and reduce the high costs of supporting PKI through centralized management.


What is changing?

After October 1, 2026, your cloud scans, network scans, and managed automation capabilities will no longer be available in CertCentral:

  • Discovery
    • Cloud Scans
    • Network Scans
  • Managed Automation*
    • Tools designed to simplify certificate lifecycle management
    • *Note: API and ACME automation are still supported in CertCentral.

Background

Why will CertCentral no longer support discovery and managed automation?

Over the past several years, DigiCert has invested in developing enhanced discovery and automation capabilities within the DigiCert Trust Lifecycle Manager. As certificate lifecycles shorten and requirements continue to evolve, we are focusing our innovation and resources on this offering to ensure customers have access to our most advanced solutions. As a result, discovery and managed automation will no longer be supported in CertCentral.


How does moving to Trust Lifecycle Manager benefit my organization?

Trust Lifecycle Manager provides automated, CA-agnostic certificate management and PKI designed to scale with your organization’s needs.


With discovery and automation capabilities in Trust Lifecycle Manager, you also gain:

 

  • Unified governance and policy enforcement
  • Asset monitoring using tags, alerts, and custom reporting
  • Support for a wide range of third-party integrations, including automation protocols, certificate authorities, DNS providers, and authentication systems


What happens on the EOL date of October 1, 2026?

On October 1, 2026, DigiCert will end support for CertCentral discovery and managed automation, including updates, maintenance, and patches. You will not be able to run any discovery and automation services or access data from previous scans.
 

Can I continue to use other features in my CertCentral account after October 1, 2026?

Your CertCentral account remains active, and you will have full access to certificates, ACME, and API integrations.

Only the discovery and managed automation will be deactivated on October 1, 2016. Users will no longer have access to discovery and managed automation.
 

What should I do if I want access to this information after October 1, 2026? Can I download information via a report, CSV file, etc.?

Access to all discovery and managed automation data in CertCentral will end on October 1, 2026. 
 

Can I purchase or renew discovery and managed automation for CertCentral before the EOL date? 

Customers can no longer purchase discovery and managed automation in CertCentral, effective immediately. These services will continue to function until access to these capabilities ends.


Can I install new sensors and agents in CertCentral?

Customers using the legacy sign-in experience can continue to install new sensors and agents in CertCentral. However, customers who have migrated to DigiCert’s single login experience, also known as a DigiCert account, can no longer install new sensors or agents. If you have been migrated and need to install a new sensor, please contact your DigiCert representative to assist with setting it up in a DigiCert Trust Lifecycle Manager account.

 

Transitioning discovery and automation services to Trust Lifecycle Manager

What do I need to do to enable discovery and automation in Trust Lifecycle Manager?

Use the Trust Lifecycle Manager web console and any required DigiCert client tools to configure your discovery and automation services. To manage certificates for web servers:

  • Replace CertCentral agents with Trust Lifecycle Manager agents for web servers
  • Deploy a sensor for network appliances and cloud services


How do I enable cloud scan in Trust Lifecycle Manager?

Cloud scans run on DigiCert-hosted infrastructure and do not require additional tools. For more information, see the user guide.


How do I enable discovery and automation in Trust Lifecycle Manager?

To enable discovery and automation in DigiCert Trust Lifecycle Manager:

  1. Use the Trust Lifecycle Manager web console to link your CertCentral account and configure your discovery and automation services. 
  2. Examples of appropriate setups based on your environment:
    1. Cloud-based scans: Run on DigiCert-hosted infrastructure and do not require additional client tools.
    2. Web servers: Replace existing CertCentral agents with Trust Lifecycle Manager agents.
    3. Network appliances and cloud services: Deploy a Trust Lifecycle Manager sensor.

What if I have a DigiCert ONE account but not Trust Lifecycle Manager as a service? 

Contact your DigiCert account representative to request provisioning. They will coordinate with the appropriate teams to ensure your account is set up and help minimize any disruption to your services.


What if I do not have a DigiCert ONE account or Trust Lifecycle Manager? 

Contact your DigiCert account representative to help set up a Trust Lifecycle Manager account and ensure continued access to discovery and automation services. They will coordinate with the appropriate teams to ensure your account is set up and help minimize any disruption to your services.
